This is a continuation of yesterday's post.  I am processing a relationship that stopped before it started. Everything in our past makes us who we are today, for better or worse.  It seems I won't get the chance to use the research I did on bipolarism, at least not in that relationship.  Still, I hate to waste perspective....

Okay, it's time.


I was going to do a book report on Happiness: Lessons from a New Science by Richard Layard, available elsewhere in Penguin paperback and in Spanish; but other stuff keeps coming up, so I'm going to incorporate a lot of what I wanted to say about that book into a diary about something that concerns me greatly (see title).  I will also be using information from Maggie Scarf's Secrets, Lies, Betrayals:  How the Body Holds the Secrets of a Life and How to Unlock Them.

Hiding The Poor In America

This is one of the key issues that should be in the forefront of any campaign of any American running for office, yet silence. Children in this country go hungry while we use billions we don't have to wage war...with Democrats agreeing with this policy as well because they don't want to look "weak." Well, from where I sit, allowing people to go hungry in this country so you can fish for votes among the rich is something much worse than looking weak. Where is the compassion in American government while the gap between poor and rich grows?
